Community and Mission

The Church has a passion for Mission – to share the good news of Jesus at home and overseas.

In addition to supporting Baptist World Mission (the former Baptist Missionary Society) and Home Mission (the support fund for the Baptist Union), our Church is engaged in a number of local outreach events:

Munch Club for the elderly (from 12.30 p.m. on Tuesdays). Three-course meal for only £3.00.

This meal is only a part of our service to the local community in Sheffield:

See this promo video from Sheffield City Council, that includes our lunch club:

Coffee Morning at Lansdowne Community Centre every Thursday (10.30 a.m. – noon)

Flower Arranging Classes, open to anyone, whether a Church member or with no connection to us at all.

Soup Run which provides food, clothing and other necessities for the homeless.

Evangelistic Witness in the city centre and the Sharrow Festival.

Women’s & Men’s Breakfast – a once a month Saturday breakfast to promote fellowship; a cooked breakfast at very modest cost,  with an interesting guest speaker each time.

Church Cricket Team, playing in the Churches cricket league; some members of all teams do not belong to any Church, so if you are good at cricket, come and see us; this might be your big chance to be a Joe Root.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP): this is a course designed to help you manage your money; again, open to anyone, Church member or not.

Holiday Clubs for children every 1/2 term.

Holiday at Home for older folk, with a theme in August.

Timebuilders CookHouse Community Meal, Sharrow on Wednesdays at 12 noon serving hot vegetarian food using donated surplus food.
